Phragmipedium Grande 'Maurice Powers' has long petals and is an easy plant to bloom

The Grande shown is ‘Maurice Powers’ (and uses a different form of caudatum in its breeding).

 Phragmipedium Grande
     =(longifolium x caudatum var. sanderae)

First made in 1881, this hybrid is still a true beauty and one that adds grace to any orchid collection! Grande can vary depending upon the varieties of the parents used. This one uses the yellow/green form of caudatum and regular longifolium and should yeild a more yellow/green form than that in my flower photo which is a Grande using the more brick red color form. These are wonderful plants that will put a smile on your face when they bloom.

This select plant has 12 growths and is in a 5-1/2" pot.
