Aerangis
brachycarpa
This is one
of the African aerangis. The plant is interesting looking even out of
bloom. The leaves are bilobed and often have black dots. Like most aerangis,
the inflorescence is pendant. They produce two to twelve flowers which
are mostly white and can be tinged pink or green. The photo of our old
plant is a bit unusual; they dont usually maintain the green lip.
These like a bit more shade than some of the aerangis and like intermediate
to warm conditions. These are NOT COMMON in cultivation.
