Aerangis cryptodon - an arching spray of graceful white flowers with LONG nectaries

 Aerangis cryptodon
To be perfectly honest, most plants labeled cryptodon are probably actually ellisii. It’s impossible to know until they bloom, too. That said, we acquired seedlings labeled as cryptodon...our blooming plant shown is labeled cryptodon (but is most likely ellisii). Confusing? You bet! Whichever one it really is, they’re VERY similar. It is one of the larger growing aerangis (still smallish by orchid standards). It will eventually outgrow the plaque it’s on (and it will need to be re-plaqued; not unlike repotting), but this is a great way to grow them. It produces long sprays lined with “birds in flight” flowers with long arching nectaries. It’s one more beautiful aerangis to add to your orchid collection.
