Aerangis
modesta
I especially
like Fred Hillerman’s description of the fragrance of this aerangis “Half
a dozen plants in bloom produce a truly overpowering spicy aroma. The
flowers begin to be fragrant on the second night after opening, and by
the following night they are in their full glory.” Not bad if you have
an interest in fragrant orchids!!! They thrive when grown on plaques and
though plaques require more consistent attention than potted plants, when
in bloom, the arching sprays from a plaque grown orchid is a graceful
and beautiful sight!
