Aerangis
punctata Barbara
Its common
name is “The Dotted Aerangis” due to its spots on both its leaves and
roots. These dots make the roots among the most interesting of all orchids!
A true miniature, a mature plant has a leaf span of 2" to 3". Though it
is often stated that these plants bear a single flower, our clone ‘Barbara’
has had five per spike. The first blooming may produce just one, but as
the plant matures, they often produce multiple flowers on multiple spikes.
This is a true jewel of the orchid family.
This picture shows ‘Barbara’ with seven spikes and 22 flowers.
