Angraecum breve is a miniature plant dwarfed by a lovely white flower that has a very long nectary.

 Angraecum breve
These are native to the area around Mount Tsaratanana in Madagascar. Don’t be deceived by the succulent look of this species. Even thought it appears to able to withstand dryness, it is native to the regularly wet rainforests of northern Madagascar. This very small (some say mini-miniature) species does well in our intermediate conditions mounted on cork with the usual coconut pad. We have seen breve described as a cool growing species which does not align with the typical definition of cool growing for orchids. These gems exhibit continual growth for us in spite of reduced fertilizer during the short-day months. Ours bloom like clockwork in January.
