Angraecum compactum can produce multiple flowers at each blooming.

Angraecum compactum has large crystalline white flowers on relatively smal plants.

 Angraecum compactum
These are native to Madagascar. We love to grow our Angraecoids on plaques but this species seems too susceptible to dehydration for dependable success. Fred Hillerman recommends pot culture over plaques as well with pure perlite as a growing media. We use medium grade bark mix in clay pots with a bit of fine grade on top and locate the plants on benches that allow east light in the greenhouse. It’s also one of our cooler areas of the greenhouse. Our plants show a marked dormancy during the winter months but still need adequate humidity to prevent desiccation of the roots and leaves. When in active growth compactum develops a network of wiry roots with a bumpy surface that will give you a good indication to the health of the plant.
