Angraecum
filicornu
Angraecum filicornu
is native to the eastern coast of Madagascar, Reunion and Mauritius. The
flowers are about 1-1/2” across, and have extraordinarily long nectaries
(about four inches long). Contrary to what you will no doubt read, we
have had good performance with this species in intermediate to warm, not
“hot” conditions. Hot can be a dangerous recommendation with any plant
of diminutive size and filicornu is no exception. We regularly water and
fertilizer as this species does not seem to display a need for a pronounced
dormancy.
NOTE: Many images on the internet of filicornu are actually of
the species pseudofilicornu.
