Angraecum sesquipedale - Darwin's orchid---large, white, waxy and fragrant

 Angraecum sesquipedale
THE KING OF ORCHIDS!!! It’s common names include “The Star of Bethlehem” (because it blooms around Christmas), “Darwin's Orchid”(he theorized that it is pollinated by a moth with a REALLY long proboscis) and “The Comet Orchid”(due to its shape and long nectary). It is a warm-growing species from Madagascar and is delightfully fragrant at night. We love it so much, we featured it on our home page!
