Microcoelia gilpinae has brilliant orange flowers on a leafless plant.

 Microcoelia gilpinae
Native to the eastern highlands of Madagascar, this gem of the Microcoelia genus needs constant moisture and relatively low light levels. Of the twenty or so plants that we are growing only one blooms with regularity. We suspect that a bit more light and SOME dryness might generate more flowers. We will work toward this goal with a couple of plants over time and update the culture information accordingly. As with most true leafless Angraecoids, the mount and pad (if any) is nearly irrelevant. Constant moisture and buoyant air is not.
