falcata - Amami Island Giant
Known as the
Japanese Wind Orchid, or the Samurais Orchid it has been grown for
centuries. There is a seemingly limitless variety of leaf colors and forms
as well as flower colors and forms. The most common is that
of solid green leaves and crystaline white flowers. AND, they are delightfully
FRAGRANT!!! This variety, Amami Island Giant, sports the largest flowers
of the species. A bonus to those without a great deal of space is that
these are small plants, three inches to six inches tall. They are quite
easy to grow under intermediate conditions and can be grown in a variety
of potting mixes or on plaques.
