Stanhopea wardii ‘Grace’
     When you start reading about stanhopeas, words like ‘grotesque’, ‘strong- smelling’ and ‘odor’ start cropping up. Personally, I like it when they bloom—you can tell that the flowers have opened the minute you enter the greenhouse—they are very odoriferous (ours are all good, but strong smelling)! In actuality, stanhopeas are highly evolved orchids with a close bond to their pollinators—their scents are to attract their specific pollinator.

We divided our LARGE plant and now have nice divisions for sale. The flowers in the photo are of the plant we divided.
