Taeniophyllum
biocellatum
Native to Java,
these leafless orchids are an interesting addition any orchid collection.
They bloom repeatedly (sequentially) on the same flower spike, and though
the flowers are small, they are fragrant. Ours thrive in intermediate
to warm temperatures in rather low light levels. Their common name is
the two-eyed Taeniophyllum referring to the eyes in the flower.
I love leafless orchids, and Taeniophyllums are especially interesting
with their flattened roots.
