Galeandra batemannii - pendulous inflorescence; flowers are brownish with big pink lips

 Galeandra batemannii
This unusual species orchid is native from Mexico to Panama. It’s a very interesting looking little plant with a pendulous inflorescence of interesting and unusual flowers. We give ours a short dormancy in the winter (less water). New growths emerge in spring that reward you with flowers in the summer. The flowers are quite long lasting and lightly fragrant.
