Rhyncholaelia glauca - huge fragrant flowers on stout plants with pretty glaucous foliage

 Rhyncholaelia glauca
     These are native to Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras. It must be a great treat to walk by these in bloom - they have a wonderful fragrance! The glaucous foliage is beautiful making them nice to look at even when they’re out of bloom. These need to get quite dry between watering and can be grown on a plaque or in a terra cotta pot wqith great success. Give it lots of light and warmth and you’ll be rewarded with its huge, fragrant flowers.
