Lined Wooden Baskets
     Vandas will grow in these without any medium. Once lined with with coconut husk fiber though, medium will stay in without getting washed away—allowing many types of orchids to grow in them. One of our customers used this method for an Oncidium ornithorhynchum and it grows and blooms beautifully (not an orchid I’d have suggested...just shows you can always learn!!!) They’re wonderful for vandaceous orchids and many bulbophyllums—we even have a bromeliad growing VERY happily in one.
